If your child is participating in the AR program at school almost any book you have at home can be used   with teacher permission for testing. To determine the book’s level go to www.arbookfind.com.  Select Parent and then enter the book’s name in the Quick Search. The book should come up. Review   the book level and ask the teacher if you can use the book. We hope this PTA paid for service is helpful and increases your child’s ability to read and comprehend.

Raising Funds

Fundraising provides the PTA with the financial means to support our school with educational and extracurricular programs, including the following:

*Programs and Assemblies like Meet the Masters, Red Ribbon Week, Imagination Machine, Walk through California, Reflections and the Valet Program

*Field Trips to places like Centennial Farms, the San Juan Capistrano Mission, Dana Point Marine Institute and the California Science Center

*Family and Community Events like our Family Nights and Carnival

*Current Supplies and Technology for our classrooms, computer lab, library, playgrounds and school facility

*Recognition Programs like Student Awards, the Mentor Program, Hospitality, Honorary Service and Scholarships.

There is no other funding available for any of these programs! Without your support and financial contributions, we couldn’t provide these much-needed supplies and activities!

Fundraisers

Fall Fundraiser: Our main fundraiser of the year is our school-wide Jog-A-Thon. You are not required to sell anything in order to participate! Instead, we respectfully ask you to consider making the most generous contribution within your ability. 100% of every dollar contributed goes directly to the school. Our 2010-2011 Jog-A-Thon is scheduled for October 15th.

Book Fairs: Our Book Fairs provide two great opportunities for parents and students to support our Golden library, classroom libraries and add to your home library. We typically conduct a fall Book Fair around Back to School Night and a spring Book Fair around Open House. Watch the main page of the website for specific details.

Community Partners: Each year, Golden partners with several businesses to allow you a really easy way to contribute with little or no effort and no additional cost to you. Click here for more information and a list of Community Partners who are supporting us by making financial contributions to our school!

Restaurant Nights: Golden also regularly partners with several local restaurants to give families a meal out and an opportunity to help with fundraising. Each restaurant gives a portion of every meal purchased on a restaurant night to Golden as a thank you for Golden families’ patronage.
