Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

Our attention is needed to make sure every Golden Eagle arrives and departs safely each day. With 853 students, we are a large campus - but we have clear procedures in place that work when everyone follows them. Just as importantly, our students are always watching us, learning from the examples we set. Let’s show them what it means to be safe, patient, and respectful community members. Thank you in advance for reviewing these reminders and for doing your part to keep all of our children safe.

Valet

  • Please display a sign in your car with your child’s name and grade -it makes pickup smoother and safer.
  • Don’t fear the valet line - it moves quickly when everyone follows the rules.
  • Students should only exit the car when in the valet line with a student valet helper. Please do not drop students off in the parking lot unless you are at a curb.

Golden Avenue

  • Do not drop students off while double parked. This is extremely unsafe and creates major traffic delays.
  • If no curbside spot is available, please keep driving or use the valet system.
  • Avoid dropping off before the parking lot in front of George Key - this area is not safe for student drop-off.

Cartlen/Brooklyn Avenue

  • Please drive slowly and never block crosswalks, driveways, or make u-turns near the gate.
  • If picking up TK or Kindergarten students, park legally at a curb—this is not a valet zone.
  • Watch children carefully. Neighbors have reported kids on lawns and even property damage. Let’s be good neighbors and respectful community members.
  • If unsafe practices continue, we may need to close this gate again.

Mignon/Heloise

  • This is also not a valet area. Please park properly along a curb (not blocking driveways).
  • If you park at the front of the cul-de-sacs, visibility is limited - plan to meet your child at the gate or stand where they can see you.
  • If you prefer to stay in your car, the valet line in the front is your best option. The dismissal line is generally finished in just 15–20 minutes.

In summary: leave a few extra minutes, follow the rules, and model the kind of safe, respectful behavior we want our students to learn. Together, we can make arrival and dismissal safe for every Golden Eagle.
