Golden Eagle News: Week of May 12, 2025
Dear Golden Families,
Wow what a week! Last week we celebrated our very own 60th Anniversary and our California Distinguished Award! Working together to spell out GOLDEN was an exciting task - and all of our Golden Eagles were up for the challenge and celebration! Honestly, when I saw the first drone photo I had tears of enormous pride in my eyes. These milestones and recognitions are a direct result of all the hard work of our students, our teachers, our entire staff, our volunteers, and our families - YOU! When we talk about community and educational partnerships, we are so thankful that you share the same vision of high expectations, rigor, curiosity, excellence, responsibility, and kindness. These are what help make Golden so "Golden". I am forever humbled to be part of such an amazing community! And it just seems to get stronger and stronger!
With that in mind, this week we begin our statewide CAASPP assessments in grades 3-6. These are very important assessments, and as I have explained, it is important that all students eat a hearty breakfast, get a good night's sleep, and come to school on time. We feel confident that our Golden Eagles are ready and will do their best for the test, and we are excited to see their all their hard work pay off!
And to top it off, Friday is our annual Golden Carnival! You won't want to miss this exciting community event. Our amazing PTA is working hard to make this 60th Anniversary Carnival epic! I can't wait to see you all there!
Warmly,
Kristin McDonald
