Dear Golden Families,

This has been a year to remember. A year filled with joy, growth, milestones, and moments of pride. From celebrating our 60th Anniversary to earning well-deserved accolades and awards, 2024–2025 has been a truly special chapter in Golden’s history. From the very start, we committed ourselves to our theme: “We Are Golden: Every Student, Every Day,” and together, with your partnership, we brought it to life. Through every lesson, event, challenge, and celebration, our Golden Eagle students were at the heart of it all. Your support, encouragement, and collaboration helped them thrive, not just as learners, but as kind, confident, and capable human beings. Because of you, they soared.

Thank you for being the incredible village behind each child. Whether volunteering your time, cheering from the sidelines, helping with homework, or simply showing up day after day; you made a difference. You are an essential part of what makes Golden shine so brightly. The connections we’ve made will truly be treasured. I absolutely adore your children, and I will miss them over the summer! I hope the weeks ahead are filled with laughter, rest, and quality time together as a family.

For those of you whose journey at Golden is coming to an end as your children move on to new adventures, please know: Once a Golden Eagle, always a Golden Eagle. You will always have a home here, and we can’t wait to hear about all the wonderful things your children will go on to accomplish.

Our office will officially close on June 26th and reopen on August 11th. If you need anything over the summer, please don’t hesitate to email me.

Wishing you all a fantastic last week of school. As a reminder, Thursday is a 12:00 PM dismissal! Thank you again for being such an integral part of our school community. Your support makes all the difference.

Dear Golden Families,

Wow! We have just 9 short days left in the school year, and there’s still so much fun and excitement ahead, along with a few important assessments to help wrap up our trimester grades. I can honestly say how proud I am of our Golden Eagles. This year has been an incredible privilege, and I feel so lucky to be part of a school that truly feels like a family. Thank you for being such an important part of our team! Watching your students grow and thrive is the absolute best part of my job.

Just a quick reminder: this Friday is a minimum day with dismissal at 12:45 PM. Teachers will be using the afternoon to finalize grades and complete report cards.

I’m looking forward to another amazing week at Golden. Let’s continue to finish the year strong together!

Dear Golden Families,

As we near the end of the year, I want to first thank you all for your continued support and partnership. This has been a special year at Golden, and I am so proud of all that we have accomplished and will continue to do so. That being said, I encourage you to continue to keep the structure and routine of school as a priority. We still have quite a bit of learning and assessments to finish up on, and not to mention our teachers and staff have planned some pretty fun end of the year activities. Your child won't want to miss any of this. Thank you!

I also want to encourage everyone to please respond to our returning next year survey. If you are not returning, please be sure to fill it out as we are finishing up on staffing projections. On that note, I also want to remind everyone that we have amazing Golden teachers and to that effect, we do not formally take teacher requests. Our staff works very hard to make balanced classes, and it would be impossible to fulfill 837 teacher requests. We thank you for your trust.

I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend and when we come back on Tuesday we will have 13 days of school left! I hope our upper grade families will join us at our end of the year music assemblies this Friday! It is so fun to see the progress and growth of our outstanding Golden Eagle musicians. All students are encouraged to wear College Wear on our last College Wear Wednesday. Show your school pride. We had an "unofficial" school spirit contest on Friday and Mrs. Ames, Mrs. Fiala, and Mrs. Bilhartz's classes had the most school spirit. Woo hoo! Just a shameless plug that every Friday is Golden Spirit Wear - because WE ARE GOLDEN! 💙💛🦅

Dear Golden Families,

Thank you to everyone who came out to our carnival! It was AMAZING! We have the best community ever. I cannot thank our Golden PTA for all their hard work to make this happen - especially Stephanie Fehlen our President and Gabriel Stempinski our Carnival Chair. It was the best night - huge smiles, laughter, food, prizes, and fun!

This week we have our second week of state testing. I strongly encourage you to make sure students are on time for school, well rested, and have a nutritious breakfast each day. Please limit pull outs and unnecessary appointments. We cannot call and interrupt a classroom that is testing.

We also will be honoring our very own PTA President, Stephanie Fehlen, at the PYLUSD Community Honoree Ceremony Monday night at YLHS. We are so appreciative of her volunteer service and leadership over the years.

If you have not signed up for TK-2 Literacy Night on Thursday, please do it ASAP so we can accurately plan to be sure we have enough staff and materials. We look forward to Taco 'About Reading on Thursday evening!

Don't forget to sign up for Summer Enrichment this week - registration is competitive and you need to do it right when it opens to ensure you get a spot. See below for more details.

Friday we will celebrate volunteers at our Golden Volunteer Appreciation Tea. You should have received invitations if you are a regular volunteer. Our staff hopes to shower you with appreciation on Friday! We also have Dippin' Dots for sale on Friday - no pre-sale tickets this time around.
