Golden families, we need to do better.
Last week, we had a close call with a vehicle speeding down Cartlen and around the curve. Thankfully, everyone was okay, but it was a reminder of how quickly something could go wrong during arrival or dismissal.
We are seeing too many unsafe practices around our campus: adults and children crossing between cars, vehicles blocking our neighbors’ driveways, families parking in staff parking spaces, students getting out of cars along Golden Avenue, and drivers moving too quickly through the neighborhood.
We understand that arrival and dismissal are busy and everyone is trying to get where they need to go. But saving a few minutes is never worth risking someone’s safety.
Please slow down. Use our designated drop-off and pick-up areas. Cross at safe locations. Keep neighborhood driveways clear. Do not use staff parking spaces. And most importantly, please model safe choices for our children.
With nearly 900 students arriving and leaving campus each day, every single one of us has a role in keeping our Golden Eagles safe. We can do better, and we need to do better. 💙💛
